PERNEM: AAP leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said Sunday that if people elected his party this election it would change the destiny of Goa.
Alleging that Congress and BJP have a secret unwritten understanding to loot India, he said that the parties take turn to come to power, every five years, in furtherance of their goal. Therefore, he said, “It’s time for honest governance which the AAP would provide if it comes to power in Goa.”
He said that within a span of two years, AAP has completely changed the life of people in Delhi which the Congress government failed to do even after ruling for fifteen years.
“People in Delhi were getting water bill of minimum Rs 2000 per month, but when our government came to power, we provided free drinking water; we reduced electricity bill by half; we set up 106 dispensary clinics; by March 31, we will set up 1000 of them,” he said.
“We changed the conditions of government schools by providing best infrastructure and drastically improving the standard of education. All these were done by totally wiping out corruption in Delhi,” he said.
Taking a dig at the U-turns taken by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on his last election promises, Kejriwal said, “Parrikar failed to keep up his promise of bringing back the Rs 36,000 crore mining scam money which he had promised in 2012 election during his door-to-door campaign. He also failed to punish the corrupt people by putting them behind bars.”
Mocking at Congress, Kejriwal said that the party has given up wining Goa and “this can be called as their last election.”
The political divorce of BJP-MGP partnership and the formation of GSM-MGP-Shiv Sena alliance, he said, have laid the ground for the saffron party’s certain defeat.
“Mining is the backbone of our country. Therefore, our total support is for green and honest mining in Goa. Also the policies will be made only after consulting with people. No compromise will be made on corruption and we will give a corruption free government,” he promised.
Mandrem Candidate Devendra Prabhudesai said, “Today, the politicians are becoming rich within few years of entering into politics and Mandrem MLA is one example. No development will take place, when the whole system is corrupt. Till now, the government has given only big talks, but its actions always contradicted them.”
“We don’t want big projects, but proper health facilities. Our first priority in Mandrem is to solve the problem created due to the amendments to the Agricultural Tenancy Act by appointing special mamlatdars to take over the cases. We will establish ward clinics which will provide free treatment and medicines. Will provide free drinking water and slash electricity bill by half,” Prabhudesai said.
