OLD GOA: Urging the people to elect Shripad Naik and Narendra Sawaikar from North and South Goa respectively, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar assured that in return he would seek Modi’s help to get environmental clearances for mining, while also getting special financial packages for the development of the State.
Speaking at a meeting organised at Carambolim on Thursday, Parrikar highlighted the misrule of the UPA government, which has given nothing to the nation but corruption due to which the country is on the brink of disaster.
“The UPA government has indulged in corruption even in defence deals,” Parrikar stated and said it just goes to show the lackadaisical attitude of the Congress-led UPA towards the security of the country.
“Only Modi has the vision to make India a superpower,” he added and urged the people to strengthen BJP by sending two BJP MPs from the State.
On the various schemes launched by the BJP government like Gruha Aadhar, Laadli Laxmi, etc, Parrikar said he is not paying the people from his own pockets.
“I am only returning to the people what is theirs,” he informed and urged the people to question the Congress leaders where the crores of money were going when they were ruling the State.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Pramod Sawant highlighted the simplicity of Shripad Naik, which had made him popular among all sections of the society.
“During his stint as MP, Naik brought in hundreds of projects in the State which included construction of community halls, construction of crematoriums, distribution of laptops and various other schemes,” Sawant added and urged the people to vote for Naik if they want more such developmental projects in the future. BJP leader Vishwas Satarkar also spoke.
