MARGAO: Opposition Leader Digambar Kamat on Sunday called upon the elected representatives to consider all COVID patients in Goa as their relatives.

“Every COVID patient in Goa needs to be considered as our relative by all the elected representatives,” Kamat said and sought clarification from the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on whether any other subject matter is more important than the COVID crisis and sufferings of the people.
“The BJP Government which once advised not to worry about COVID pandemic is now afraid and running away from facing the Opposition in the State Legislative Assembly,” he alleged.
“The death toll of COVID patients is rising day by day with the unfortunate death of a 14-year-old girl yesterday. The situation will go out of hand if the BJP government does not act sensibly now and will push the Goans into the death trap,” Kamat warned.
“The COVID testing process had slowed down with a backlog of almost 7000 test results till date. This is an alarming situation,” he claimed.
“The sentiments and expectations of the people of Goa are to have a detailed discussion on COVID pandemic and its effect on Goa’s economy. If the government does not accept the Opposition’s demand to discuss COVID, we will be compelled to take an alternate course of action”, Kamat warned.
