PANJIM: An Election Observer currently posted in Goa was injured in a freak accident between two cars in the early hours of Friday while she was walking.
Shella Marak who had been staying at the Panjim Residency located on the 18th June was out for a morning walk when she was caught in the accident which occurred near the Panjim ferry promenade.
She received head injuries and was immediately shifted to Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) in Bambolim.
Sources informed that she was not accompanied by any other person or personal security at the time of the accident. When her PSO reached out to her at her accommodation and finding out that she was not at the hotel, the PSO informed the superiors.
Upon enquiry it was then alarmed that the lady involved in the accident and admitted in GMC was an IAS officer and Election Observer. Until this time which is around afternoon, she was not identified.
Police are awaiting her statement to proceed with the investigation and to know how she was caught in the accident scene on Friday morning.
