PONDA: The Electricity Department has taken action and cleared a dangerous electricity pole on the Ponda-Kavlem Road near the Civil Court. The move comes after O Heraldo’s April 28 report highlighting the danger posed by the electricity poles on the newly hot-mixed road.
For days, the poles near the PWD Office at Daag-Ponda and the Civil Court had been left standing in the middle of the road, posing a safety hazard for locals. However, the pole near the Civil Court has now been removed and shifted to the opposite side of the road.
Kishan Naik, who had raised the issue, expressed his gratitude to O Heraldo and the Electricity Department for taking prompt action in removing the dangerous poles.
This incident highlights the importance of proper completion of infrastructure works, to ensure the safety of road-users.
