Entire health infra will be put in order to tackle third wave: Health Min

MARGAO: Stating that the State government has sufficient medicines and medical staff, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said that the entire health infrastructure will be put in order to tackle the challenge of the third wave of COVID-19, as he felicitated the frontline workers of South Goa District Hospital on Saturday. 

Speaking to the media persons, Rane said that the government is ready to appoint more doctors and nurses if required in wake of COVID-19. 

“Health Department along with the Chief Minister is working hard to do the best to the people. In order to tackle the third wave of COVID-19, all must be vaccinated and we are hoping that by end of July, 100 per cent vaccination will be achieved,” he stated. 

Rane said vaccination will help to reduce the mortality rate. 

Reacting to the allegation by the government for failing to handle the COVID situations, he said that there is no harm in criticism but at the same time solutions also need to be given. 

“Maybe the government falls short in managing the COVID situation. However, we have tried our best to handle it. The government is working hard for the betterment of people,” he stated. 

Further, he appreciated the works of all frontline workers belonging to the medical fraternity.
