PANJIM: Well known Goan entrepreneur Cosme Matias De Menezes passed away on Wednesday. He was 72.
Born in Goa on April 5, 1941 he was the eldest son of the renowned pioneer of the Indian pharmaceutical industry late Pascoal Jose Menezes. He started working with his father in the early 1960s, even as he pursued his formal education in economics and business Management.
Menezes took over the business of the Cosme Matias Menezes Group from his father at a young age and launched the Cosme Group of Companies. Apart from the factory, CFL Pharmaceuticals Limited at Ponda, he further initiated the expansion plan with two manufacturing units ~Cosme Pharma Limited, Bicholim and Cosme Remedies Limited Porvorim.
