Pernem: According to Pernem police, former Sarpanch of Dhargal village panchayat Nilesh Naik, aged 40 years, committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree on Sunday afternoon. The incident took place at around 1.30 pm on Sunday afternoon when the police found his body in Sukekolan-Dhargal.
No suicide note was found at the crime site. After conducting a panchanama, the Pernem police sent the body to the Goa Medical College and Hospital at Bambolim. Further investigation is in progress.
