MARGAO: Former South Goa Member of Parliament Adv. Narendra Sawaikar said that the current political developments in the State of Goa will not have any impact on the Bharatiya Janata Party. Goans are intelligent enough to decide who to vote and who to give powers in the upcoming elections, he said.

Sawaikar said that his party has targeted more than 27 seats to win.
When asked about the target to win the seats he said that BJP has an aim of winning a minimum 22 seats to form the government but will surely go beyond 27 seats in the upcoming elections.
“Selections of candidates will be done as per the procedure of the party and hence names will be finalised only after the due process”, he added.
“There will be no effect on the people of Goa with regard to different political parties entering the fray, neither for the elections nor for shifting the loyalists from his party by some political leaders. In general it will have no impact on BJP”, said Sawaikar in the sideline of a medical camp.
Sawaikar further said that BJP is not an election oriented party but remains active in all the sectors related to people.
“We are working 365 days. Our workers are always busy interacting with the people and hence there will be no effect on the BJP in Goa with regard to new political developments happening in Goa”, he added.
It has been noticed that several political parties are trying to impress the people of Goa by giving false assurances once they come to power, he said.
