PONDA: A former Usgao-Ganje sarpanch and another resident of Panjim have been accused of threatening the Usgao-Ganje panchayat secretary on Tuesday.
According to Ponda Police, the secretary Mahadev Naik complained that the accused threatened him of dire consequences.
Sources informed that the secretary recently issued stop work notice to a controversial construction carried out by the Panjim resident. Unhappy with the panchayat issuing stop work order, the resident along with the former sarpanch allegedly threatened the panchayat secretary of dire consequences.
Ponda Police booked the duo for obstructing government servant from discharging duties. Ponda Police registered the offence under Sections 448, 353 of IPC and is investigating the case.
