PANJIM: Exams for various civil cadre posts, which were halted due to COVID-19 pandemic induced lockdown, is set to resume. Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) has announced to hold Computer Based Recruitment Test (CBRT) for direct recruitment to several posts across various departments, next month.
The CBRT, Chairman Jose Manual Noronha said will be conducted on October 9, 10 and 11.
“The examinations will be conducted by following all the standard operating procedures prescribed by the authorities and over these three days around 1,700 candidates are expected to appear in batch sizes of around 15 per laboratory. All sanitisation procedures will be followed prior to and post examination and adequate precautions including thermal scanning, mandatory use of Aarogya Setu App, etc will be enforced for all candidates at the examination Centre,” Noronha said.
These CBRTs will be held for all positions except junior scale officers (JSO) posts which will be held once colleges are allowed to reopen and the COVID-19 pandemic subsides since around 3,600 candidates are expected to answer the JSO examination.
The Commission had advertised a large number of positions to government departments mainly in Higher Education, Civil Aviation, Health Services, Dental College, Medical College, Mines and Geology, Skill Training, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Agriculture Department, among others.
A total of 233 posts had been advertised and almost 6,500 applications were received for these positions.
