Fake visa racket busted

The Panjim police today busted a major fake visa racket with the arrest of Arthur Kennedy Lawrence of Porvorim and Ashish Kerkar of Pilgao, who were allegedly duping people in the guise of giving jobs overseas.
According to Panjim police, around 20 persons had informed that the duo had been taking around Rs 65,000 to Rs 70,000 from each person promising them jobs abroad.
However, the visas they would ggve were fake and the police had been on the look out for them ever since.
A complaint by Samir B Tari also stands registered at Panjim Police Station in this regard.
The duo has been arrested from Miramar when they were travelling a Santro car bearing registration number GA01 R 0068.
The police have found 18 passports and several visas, which are said to be fake.
All 18 persons whose passports were found with the duo have been summoned to the Panjim police station for questioning.
Meanwhile, the accused have been remanded to seven days police custody.
