VALPOI: A team of doctors from the Community Health Centre, Valpoi visited the family members of the accused involved in the tiger killing case, as four members of the two families had fever.
Health officer Dr Gajanan Naik said they received a memorandum from a delegation of Village Panchayat members and oral instructions from the Deputy collector saying that the family members of accused were unwell.
A team consisting of Medical Officer Dr Shyam Kankonker, Aqueeb Shaikh, Paramedics Santosh
Bandekar, Omkar Dessai accompanied by panch Govind Korgaonkar went to the spot.
“Our team examined all the four members of the two families, who had fever and provided them medication and took their blood samples for investigations,” the health officer said.
He said, “there was a bed-ridden aged patient, who was examined and the doctor adviced her daughter-in-law to get her admitted in the hospital, but she refused saying that there would be no one to accompany her during her stay in hospital as she has a daughter and there is no one to look after her at home. So, we gave her medication and asked her to report to us later,” said Naik.
