QUEPEM: A resident of Davondem-Fatorda has accused about 14 persons from Gaonkarwada-Quepem of assaulting him and stealing gold ornaments, mobile phones and other items worth Rs 3.22 lakh at Deau-Gaonkarwada, Quepem, on Monday.
According to Quepem police, Vikrant Fal Dessai of Davondem-Fatorda complained that the accused persons armed with deadly weapons forcibly tried to stop him on road while he was proceeding in his property. The accused persons abused and assaulted him and also threatened him with dire consequences.
The complainant further stated that during the scuffle, unidentified villagers snatched golden chain, bracelet and ring (worth about Rs 1.55 lakh), two mobile sets, one Bluetooth, cash of Rs 90,000, all worth Rs 3.22 lakh and property documents. The motive is reportedly property disputes. Police is investigating the case.
