The Defence Ministry had sought a feasibility report from the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) Bangalore making the project a priority.
“I had asked HAL to conduct a preliminary report, whether it is for manufacturing or repair or whatever. There are some restraints but I’ll spin it up. Such things don’t happen overnight,” he said replying to Herald.
After the feasibility report is examined, HAL will place a business plan before the ministry following which further modalities will be worked out. The Union minister had announced the plan at the ‘Goa Investment Summit – A Prelude’ in February this year stating that Goa is an ideal location given the availability of necessary infrastructure.
