A large number of devotees attended the Mass to celebrate the nativity or birthday of Mother Mary at Holy Spirit Church Margao, on Thursday. The day is also celebrated as the feast of Our Lady of Health or Our Lady of Vailankanni and as Mother’s day. Devotees thronged to kiss the statue of our Lady of Vailankanni. The traditional brass band added nostalgic flavour to the celebrations at Margao. A mass was also offered by Our Lady of Vailankanni Drivers’ Association Margao, at Arlem on September 8.
