VALPOI: For the past 25 years villagers from Hivre Khudra have been demanding a 600 metre road in their ward, but authorities have turned a blind eye to their persistent demand.
There are five families in the ward of Hivre Khudra village, where they do not have a road, which has led to a lot of inconvenience and difficulties.
The local MLA has been approached time and again, yet he has not acceded to the villagers’ demand for a road in their ward.
Incidentally, the local Panchayat Dongurli Thane, had passed a resolution for a road in gram sabha five years ago and yet the panch‘s only reply is that he is trying his best.
“We have been raising our demand for the past several years and have approached our elected representative. However we are getting only assurances and nothing else. With no one paying attention to our demand, we have built a laterite stone road pooling our own money last year. But the laterite stone road too has been creating problems during the rainy season,” Nauso Sugun Kadam, a villager lamented.
