Finally, an advocate agrees to represent gang rape accused

MARGAO: The three persons from Madhya Pradesh accused of raping a Goan girl on May 24 this year at Sunset Beach in Betalbatim have finally got a lawyer and their trail is now scheduled for October 3 when arguments before charge will be heard by Additional Sessions Judge III Vijaya Ambre.
Advocate Spencer Viegas who was appointed under the Legal Aid Scheme to represent the three accused namely Ishwar Mackwana, Ram Bariya and Sanjeev Pal has consented to represent them and hence the judge fixed the matter for Oct 3.
It may be recalled that two lawyers namely Peter Fernandes and Julius Gomes who were earlier appointed to represent the trio under the Legal Aid Scheme had expressed their inability to take up the matter and Spencer was the third advocate to be appointed.
