PANJIM: Goa State Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Corporation Limited (GSSTFDCL) on Friday notified a Short Term Loan scheme for education, business and medical purposes.
Under this scheme, financial support up to Rs 1 lakh only at the rate of 2 per cent with a repayment period of 10 years is provided to an individual/student belonging to Scheduled Tribe Community as an advance to meet financial requirement urgently for the purpose of education, business and medical needs.
The scheme aims to ease difficulties faced by the ST community in arranging funds required to fulfil educational needs of their wards or fulfilling their health and business needs.
The corporation is currently implementing two loan schemes such as Ashraya Adhar Scheme and Self Employment Scheme. Under the first up to Rs 2 lakh is advanced as loan at the rate of 2 per cent with repayment period of 10 years for repair/reconstruction of the existing house. Under the latter a loan up to Rs 10 lakh is provided to unemployed ST members to undertake self employment activity and loans up to Rs 15 lakh to an association, society, partnership, self help group, company formed exclusively by the member of the ST community at the rate of 4 per cent with repayment period of 10 years.
