VASCO: Fire broke out in a flat at Sasmolem-Baina on Wednesday. A resident was shifted to Chicalim hospital as she felt uneasy due to smoke in the flat. Sources said that the woman has recovered since then.
Vasco fire station personnel, who attended to the emergency, said that the apartment was full of smoke due to short circuit.
After receiving a call, Fire station officer Dilip Bicholkar along with his team and a fire tender rushed at the spot and extinguished fire before it could spread to other places.
Bicholkar said that the short circuit may have occurred either in the metre box and or other electric appliances on the first floor of the apartment.
The loss due to the fire is pegged at around Rs 30,000 and property saved is Rs 10,000.
