PANJIM: Amid pouring rain, fire engulfed an establishment in the Panjim market area destroying property worth lakhs of rupees.
The fire, which may have been caused by a possible electric short circuit, quickly engulfed the clinic located opposite the Panjim market complex.
Fire personnel who rushed to the spot managed to bring the fire under control, but by this time most of the damage was already done.
Exact estimate of the damages is yet to be ascertained and investigation into the episode is underway.
