Fire Service Day on April 14

Goa Fire and Emergency Services will be observing the National Fire Service Day on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 to pay homage to the firemen martyrs who have laid down their lives during the course of duty, followed by a fire prevention week between April 14-20, 2010.
On national fire service day, April 14, 2010, a function will be held at the fire force headquarters, St Inez, Panjim, wherein wreaths would be placed on the firemen martyrs’ column by all ranks of the fire service personnel.
On the fire service day, live fire fighting and rescue demonstrations by fire personnel and an exhibition of fire fighting equipments would be held at 10.30 hrs at fire force headquarters. During the fire prevention week, all the fire stations would be conducting various programmes and demonstrations to generate fire safety awareness among the public.
