The truck (GA-02-V-8634) was proceeding with sardines from Ratnagiri towards Karwar. On reaching the Karaswada junction, the driver saw a vehicle proceeding towards him from the opposite direction. In a bid to avert a collision, the truck driver swerved the vehicle as a result of which it went off the road and fell into the fields.
The truck driver and the cleaner escaped with minor injuries, while the front portion of the truck was damaged. The sardines were seen spilled all over the place.
