CURCHOREM: Ground floor flat belonging to one Rashid Sayyed in Akram building at Carriamoddi, Curchorem gutted in fire due to a short circuit, on Wednesday evening. The loss is estimated at Rs 5 lakh.
According to sources, the daughter-in-law of the house saw smoke coming out from the main box of air conditioner. She immediately alerted her mother-in-law who was present in the flat along with a child.
It is learnt that soon after their departure from flat the bedroom caught fire and later spread to entire flat gutting furniture, electronic gadgets, bed, clothes and other valuable articles causing loss of around Rs 5 lakh.
