Follow MHA protocol, says CM

Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has asked the authorities to follow the guidelines set by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in connection with a cruise ship that was anchored off Goa coast, reportedly with 100 crew members.

“The Captain of Ports received official correspondence regarding the matter. I asked the authorities to follow the MHA protocol, and the MHA protocol states that they should be quarantined for 14 days. The crew can come to Goa via road, carrying with themselves a certificate (about completion of the quarantine). They will be tested and quarantined again in Goa,” he said. The cruise ship will be moved to Mumbai where the crew will complete their first quarantine period.

The same rule also applies to the seafarers, around 8,000 of whom are stranded in different countries.
