Fonseca elected AIGPWF chief

The All India Gram Panchayat Workers’ Federation held its two-day foundation conference at Margao, where it adopted the Constitution of the Federation

PANJIM: Veteran trade union leader Comrade Christopher Fonseca was unanimously elected president of All India Gram Panchayat Workers’ Federation.

The newly formed All India Gram Panchayat Workers’ Federation office-bearers consist of 27 members from different States. Deepa Borkar and Pradeep Gauns, both from Goa have been elected as one of the secretaries and executive committee members respectively. 

The All India Gram Panchayat Workers’ Federation held its two-day foundation conference at Margao, where it adopted the Constitution of the Federation with the avowed objective of fostering the spirit of comradeship, cooperation and mutual assistance amongst all the employees of gram panchayat/s in our country and to secure for the employees of village panchayats better conditions of life and to safeguard their interest and rights in relation of their employment.
