The talk everywhere is about keeping the surrounding clean. But then at the entrance of the municipal park in Vasco a large heap of dry leaves has been lying for several days. The leaves were in all probability swept from various places in the park by the sweepers in order to keep the park clean. But what is equally important is to collect and dispose of the waste appropriately in quick time. The heap of dry leaves must have by now decomposed due to the sporadic bursts of shower that the Port Town has been experiencing. This can prove to be unhygienic for the little children and the senior citizens who visit the park in large numbers every day. Ironically the heap of dry leaves is very close to a sign board which reads “This Is Your Park. Help Keep It Clean”.
The authorities concerned need to clear this heap of dry leaves on a war-footing as it can be a health hazard for the citizens, specially, little children. Such garden waste also needs to be disposed off regularly in future.
