PANJIM: The Ad-hoc Civil Judge Senior Division and Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Court, Panjim on Wednesday posted for orders on September 13, the criminal miscellaneous application filed by Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Girish Chodankar seeking directions to the Panjim police to register FIR against 10 party rebel MLAs and 53 others for allegedly forging documents.
After hearing the arguments of the applicant, the court said that the matter will now be posted for orders on Monday, September 13 whether to refer/transfer the complaint to the designated Special Court, Panjim or not.

Adv Abhijit Gosavi, who argued on behalf of Chodankar cited various Supreme Court judgments to convince the court that designated Special Court is to try the criminal cases against both, the elected and former MPs and MLAs and that in this case he is only praying directions to the Panjim police to register the FIR and to hold free and proper investigations and to timely submit progress of investigations to the court.
Chodankar had approached the court after the Panjim police refused to register FIR against the 10 rebel party MLAs and 53 others for allegedly forging party documents and producing the same as genuine before the Goa Assembly Speaker, who was hearing disqualification petition against these MLAs.
The Panjim police had already filed its reply stating that Chodankar’s complaint has been forwarded to the Porvorim Police Station on point of jurisdiction, for necessary action.
