Former Sarpanch Clears Roadside Vegetation to Improve Safety on Pernem–Korgaon Road

Concerned over the frequent movement of wild animals along the main road connecting Pernem and Korgaon, former Sarpanch Devidas Nagvekar undertook an initiative to clear overgrown trees and bushes lining the stretch to improve visibility and enhance public safety.

According to local residents, wild animals are often spotted crossing or roaming along the road through Korgaon village during both the day and night, posing a risk to motorists and pedestrians.

Nagvekar said the vegetation clearance was carried out as a small contribution towards serving the community and helping make the road safer for commuters. The removal of overgrown bushes is expected to improve visibility along the stretch and reduce the chances of sudden encounters with wildlife.

Residents have welcomed the initiative and expressed hope that the concerned authorities will continue to maintain the roadside vegetation to ensure safer travel on the Pernem–Korgaon road.
