‘Foundation for complex with govt offices in Bicholim soon’

BICHOLIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Wednesday announced that the foundation stone for the new complex at the old police station in Bicholim with all government offices will be laid soon. 

He was speaking after inaugurating the first phase of road beautification project from Bicholim to Walshi undertaken by the Bicholim Municipal Council. The project was completed utilising around Rs one crore. 

The CM said that the new complex project at the old police station will take shape soon. It is learnt that the complex would not only house government offices but also have a mini hall. 

“There were some hurdles regarding the land acquisition and now that they are resolved, we will soon lay the foundation stone for the same,” the CM said. 

He informed that the fire brigade building and the government primary school building will be completed by December 2021. 

“The work of both the buildings is going on and we expect the work to be ready by year-end,” he informed. 

On Bicholim bus stand, he said the bus stand would be completed during the current tenure. 

“This time, there will be no laying of foundation stone. We will directly begin with the bus stand work,” he said.
