PANJIM: Three days after six boys from Apna Ghar escaped during the late hours, four are still untraceable, while one was located in the compound and another reported at Bicholim police station on Tuesday.
The six inmates had escaped from the State-run remand-cum-shelter home through a window by bending the grills. However, no police complaint was lodged.
Sources told Herald that one of them was traced hiding in the compound minutes after the staff realised that some boys had run away from the home. The second boy was brought to Bicholim police station by his mother, who was then asked to drop the child back to Apna Ghar by following due procedure. “Four boys are still missing,” added the source.
The Directorate of Women and Child Development has ordered for an inquiry into the incident.
