PONDA: Ponda police arrested four persons for trespassing into a house at Querim and assaulting its inmates, late night on Friday.

Ponda PI Mohan Gaude said that Viraj Raut (23), Pancham Naik (21) both from Cumbarjua, Sahil Akhadkar (19) from Akar-Mardol and Akshay Shilkar (23) from Savoi Verem had criminally trespassed into a house at Quereim and assaulted the inmates, including a minor.
All the accused have been remanded in police custody for two days.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, the Querim villagers gathered at the police station in large numbers demanding strict action against all the four accused for assaulting the family.
