MAPUSA: Close on the heels of arrests in connection with misappropriation of funds at Serula Communidade, Goa Police arrested four members of the Tivim Communidade on similar charges late Friday evening.
According to police reports, the four office bearers arrested by Mapusa police are Attorney Mathew D’Souza (65), substitute treasurer Alexander Patricio (73), substitute attorney Antonio Fonseca (65) and substitute president Luis D’Souza (63).
Mapusa Police said Jude D’Lima, Felix D’Lima and Roland D’Souza had filed a police complaint on May 13, accusing seven committee members of the Tivim Communidade, of misappropriating communidade funds which had been deposited in a nationalised bank.
Acting on the complaint, Mapusa police arrested four committee members, while three other named in the complaint are absconding. Mapusa police is investigating the case.
