Four tourists rescued

MAPUSA: Drishti lifeguards rescued four tourists from drowning at Vagator Beach, recently.

According to the sources, the incident occurred at around 1.30 pm, when the four tourists including a female hailing from Haryana and New Delhi ventured into the water even after they were warned by the lifeguards on duty not to, since the sea condition was not safe for swimming.

Later, while swimming, one of them caught up in a rip current and was dragged further into the sea. He called up for help after which his friends rushed in to help him. However, they also got caught into the rip current.

As all the four started shouting for help, the alert lifeguards rescued them with help of rescue board and tube.
