A self-accident was reported near Pradnya High School Pernem at Devsu Korgao wherein a four-wheeler car veered off the road and crashed into the woods on Saturday late evening. According to reports, the driver lost control of the vehicle, misjudging the sharpness of the turn, leading to the incident and causing extensive damage to the car.
Residents of Devsu Korgao alerted authorities about the accident and rushed to the scene. The driver sustained injuries in the incident. The police have registered a case for the same and are currently conducting an investigation. Concerned for the safety of both residents and motorists, locals have called for the construction of a protective wall along the roadside to avoid any dangerous accidents in future.

According to the locals, this is the second incident that took place at the same location. Locals informed that two months ago on 18th January 2024, a similar accident took place wherein a Tamil Nadu registered taxi, navigating the sharp turn on the Konadi-Korgao road, lost control and veered off into the bushes. No fatalities were reported; however, 11 occupants suffered severe injuries.
