MARGAO: Goemcarancho Otrec Asro (GOA) party candidate Adv Jawahar Dias has said he will fight for a ban on Special Economic Zones, while promising to tone up medical facilities by upgrading and providing additional equipments in all hospitals in South Goa.
Adv Jawahar Dias, who is contesting the South Goa seat on the Goemcarancho Otrec Asro (Goa party) banner, and not as an independent as was inadvertently mentioned in the media, has promised free education upto graduation level and provide economic facilities for backward classes, SCs and STs.
He has promised to set up institutions to provide necessary courses for Goa for securing jobs as IAS officers. “If elected, I will fight to scrap the airport at Mopa and will ensure that Goa gets special status and dual citizenship for its citizens”, he added.
Adv Jawahar is a prominent figure in the agitation to protect and save the Costa grounds at Aquem. He said he was successful in stopping construction of coastal police jetty at Ribandar fish-breeding area.
