From April 1, all services to come under Public Services Guarantee Act

All govt payments to go online

PANJIM: Goa (Right of Citizens to Time-Bound Delivery of Public Services) Act, commonly known as the Public Services Guarantee Act, will be implemented in full from April 1, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar announced on Thursday.
Speaking at the launch of the Common Service Delivery Portal for urban local bodies, Parrikar said directions have been given to heads of department to create the required workforce for the implementation of the Act.
“Act will be notified in toto across all departments from April 1. Currently it is partially operational,” the Chief Minister said. 
The government had earlier brought over 497 public services of 40 departments under the ambit of the Act, which was introduced in 2013. 
The Department of Public Grievances has notified various public services, mostly related to the common man, in connection with various certificates, permissions, disbursement of claims and compensations, no objection certificates, which should be provided in a time bound manner.
Also, construction licences, consent to operate to red, green and orange category industries have also been brought under the ambit of the Act.
From April 1 onwards, all government payments will be digitised. “From April 1 onwards, we will also start online payments,” Parrikar said.
