Gadkari to inaugurate SITC

South India Transport Council will be inaugurated by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari at a city hotel.

State transport ministers from Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra, all State secretaries, union secretaries and transport commissioners will attend.
Issues discussed will include the need for battery operated vehicles to have registration, quotas, fixing maximum age of various types of vehicles, issuing licences to driving schools, transporting of hazardous waste and sharing of transport data across states.
The two-day conference will see secretary level talks, where various stakeholders may be called on the second day.
Gadkari will also lay the foundation for various projects in the State on April 9.
