PANJIM: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) seized ganja from Mala, Panjim, worth Rs 7.15 lakh and arrested three persons and has taken a juvenile into custody.
NCB Superintendent of Police Jitendra Ranjan said the raid was conducted based on information and 14.318 kgs of ganja, procured by the accused from Odisha, was found.
He said NCB has taken Subhash Mali, Ranjit Singh, Laruj Kumar Pallo from Odisha into custody, and one juvenile from Jharkhand. He said that the three accused have been sent in judicial custody at central jail Colvale while the juvenile has been sent to the State protective home.
Ranjan said that most of the accused were working in Goa as helpers or labourers. “This case is a huge crackdown on the drug syndicate as four have been arrested,” he said.
