MAPUSA: With a step towards garbage free Mapusa, Ujwala Bank, Mapusa branch, on Thursday donated a garbage collection vehicle along with 10 dustbins to Mapusa Municipal Council.
The vehicle and bins were handed over to Chairperson of Mapusa Municipal Council Shubhangi Vaigankar in presence of Municipal Engineer II Venkatesh Sawant and representative of Ujwala Bank. Other councillors were also present.

Speaking on the occasion Vaigankar said, “Ujwala Bank has handed over Chota Haathi and 10 dustbins which were much needed. The vehicle will be utilised in garbage management while the 10 dustbins have been installed at various places under the jurisdiction of Mapusa municipality.”
Distribution Manager Sriniwas Murti from Ujjivan Small Finance Bank said, “Our bank has 575 branches across India with around 16 lakh customers. Every year we have been taking up such activity as part of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and have been sharing profit for serving the society.”
