PANJIM: Goa Forward has decided to approach the Lokayukta over irregularities and illegalities committed by the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) for awarding work tender to a company owned by a BJP worker and brother of Kala Academy vice-chairman.
“Even after issuing tenders of almost Rs 12 crore earlier, the Entertainment Society of Goa  has now awarded two new tenders, one at Children’s Park at Campal and second one for street décor at Kala Academy. Both the contracts are awarded to Mirchi Republic, a company owned by Bansi Khedekar brother of Kala Academy Vice-Chairman Raja Khedekar,” Goa Forward spokesperson Adv Tanvir Khatib told media persons.
Khatib claimed that that tender committee was headed by Raja Khedekar along with other members which include the joint director Information and Publicity, joint General Manager Entertainment Society of Goa , Technical OSD of Entertainment Society of Goa , ex-corporator of CCP and one legal advisor.
“Three companies had applied for Kala Academy street décor. Without any scrutiny, the contract was awarded to Mirchi Republic,” Khatib said.
Goa Forward will file a complaint with Lokayukta and also with Vigilance Department, he said.
