MARGAO: Goa Forward Party (GFP) on Wednesday said it would complain to the State Election Commission against former MLA Damu Naik for threatening its workers and the voters from Margao and Fatorda.
Addressing media persons, GFP vice-president Durgadas Kamat said, “The municipal elections are being held following a SC order and therefore a copy of the complaint will also be sent to the Chief Justice so that he is apprised of what is happening in Goa.”
He alleged that Damu asked the father of a govt official to accompany his candidate for canvassing for the Margao Municipal Council elections failing which he threatened to get the son transferred to Pernem.
He alleged that Damu threatened the family of a person who was going around canvassing for the Fatorda Forward candidate that he would demolish their house which he said was illegal.
