PANJIM: A special board meeting of Goa Industrial Development Corporation, scheduled next month will chalk out a comprehensive plan for new plot allotments, setting up of new industrial estates and the expansion of existing estates, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said.

He said that government has big plans to make the entire process of industrial plot allotments and granting of permission for new units, investor friendly and transparent.

He said that the upcoming board meeting, scheduled next month will be taking a call on the second phase plot allotments and vacant plots along with setting up of new industrial estates. “There have been delays in the entire industrial sector as the whole IDC was in a mess. It was not an easy task to clear everything. But now the sector is been put in place,” Parrikar, who is also GIDC Chairman said.

Parrikar said ‘everything would be done as per regulations’. As reported earlier, in the first phase, plot allotments were done in Tuem, Kakoda and Pissurlem industrial estates. “More plots have been identified, which would also be advertised,” he said. When asked whether any decision has been taken with regards to the  plots, which were left unutilized or underutilized, he said ‘notices have been served to the plot owners, wherein in some cases extension has been given to restart the work while others have been told to surrender it’.
