MARGAO: The gift deed pertaining to a football ground dominated the gram sabha proceedings of the village panchayat fo Guirdolim on Sunday.
At the meeting held on this morning chaired by Sarpanch Sonia Dias, members raised the question of the conditional gift deed for the football ground.
The Sarpanch later informed that the gram sabha has resolved that the gift deed be executed afresh without any conditions, adding that the members also demanded that the builder make a gift deed for 6500 sq mts and not 6150 sqmts area.
“At today’s meeting, it was agreed to revoke the gift deed executed for the football ground. Members have demanded that the builder execute the gift deed without any condition”, she said.
The 20-point program also dominated the gram sabha proceedings after former sarpanch Jose Antao demanded to know whether any survey has been conducted of the housing units under the scheme. He later told the media that the villagers and the Panchayat would approach the district Collector to take cognisance of the grievances of the villagers on the 20-point program.
Issues of having a full-fledged health centre in Guirdolim village at the closed primary school was raised by gram sabha members, to which the sarpanch informed that in view of a health centre existing in close vicinity village of Chandor the authorities had turned down the request.
A resolution was taken that the existing health centre at Chandor be upgraded for the benefit of citizens of both the villages.
