Santimano will lead the eagerly anticipated carnival float parades in the capital, Panjim, and then in the towns of Margao, Vasco and Mapusa, ahead of the Lenten season.
Santimano, the Joint Commissioner of Customs and Central Excise, vied with 12 other candidates to win the crown at a contest organized by Advertising Associates.
The 57-year-old Indian Revenue Service officer from Colva was the first prize winner of the Goa Carnival Float on ‘Mixed Marriage’ held in 1998 and second prize winner at the Goa Carnival in 2003.
Prior to this, he has participated as King Momo at the
Royal Calcutta Golf Club Carnival in 2005.
