GMC Dean has formed a medical board of three professors for an inquiry into Siddhi Naik’s father’s complaint based on post-mortem report. Sidhi Naiks dwad body was found on Calangute beach in August after she went missing the previous day
The committee is headed by Dr. Wiseman Pinto, Professor HoD of Pathology Dept cum Dean faculty of Goa University, Dr.Guruprasad Pednekar, Professor HoD OBG dept and Dr. A.V.Fernandes, Professor Forensic Medicine, GMC. This committee was formed after Calangute PI Nolasco Raposo wrote to GMC Dean to form a Medical Board committee and review the post mortem and investigation report.
On Friday, Calangute PI Nolasco Raposo wrote to the GMC dean requesting to constitute a medical board to review the said case. As the complaint has pointed out that the mentioned blood clots (PM lividity) typically of drowning had formed on the back in supine position, whereas in typical drowning cases such clots are found on the front of the chest. He had further requested to give their say on the claims made by Siddhi naik’s father on the post-mortem report.
This was a day after Siddhi Naik’s father Siddesh Naik, officially lodged a complaint of Murder at the Calangute Police Station. Now the Goa Police has swung into action but has thrown the ball in Goa Medical College Dean’s court.
The police had initially stated that she had committed suicide, a theory that has been questioned due to the non reservation of the viscera o the deceased.
