He also refuted the allegation that Goa Dairy had failed on many fronts, as reported by a section of the press, and called the same as “baseless”.
“The media should not fall prey to such tactics and should ask us for information any time. Such misleading reports are not new to us. We are not bothered about that. Same old stories are repeated. We clear it if anyone asks about it. We are not worried about such reports or SUMUL’s entry,” said Sawant.
He continued, “The important thing is that Goan farmers want Goa Dairy, and therefore, there is no threat to Goa Dairy. Goa Dairy is also not in loss.”
It process around 90,000 litres of milk in the Goan market. With the available resources, we have kept a target of 1 lakh litres of milk production in the near future. The plant processing capacity is 1.30 lakh litres per day. We did not export the milk collected from Goan farmers to other states, as alleged by some sections of the media.”
