PONDA: The four directors of Goa Dairy including former chairman Rajesh Faldesai on Saturday claimed that the dairy is running in losses under Administrator’s management.
Faldesai said, “Whenever Board is dissolved and Administrator is appointed it has always suffered losses.”
“In September Annual General Body was held and after the meeting Administrator Vilas Naik has claimed that the dairy earned profit of Rs 4.36 crore,” he said.
However, according to Faldesai there is no truth in Naik’s claim.
“The profit was earned for the period 2017-2018 when Board was managing the dairy under his chairmanship. The Administrator had even declared to distribute patronage and dividend to the farmers but so far no money is distributed,” he informed.
He also alleged that currently the affairs are managed by the Administrator and sale is reduced to 62,000 litres from 72,000 litres.
When Herald contacted dairy officials, they said that the dairy has decided to implement the AGM’s decision to distribute patronage money to the farmers and the file has been sent to Registrar of Cooperative Society (RCS) and awaiting its approval.
The official said that the approval from RCS is soon expected and added that due to floods in neighbouring States Goa Dairy milk supply and sale was reduced.
“Now this season the milk supply is expected to increase from Goan farmers and so we are expecting rise sale.”
