Goa Edu Board to get new building

PANJIM: Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) Vice-Chairman Siddharth Kuncalienkar on Thursday said that the consultant for the construction of the new building of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) will be appointed shortly and the foundation stone for it would be laid after the monsoon.
Speaking to Herald, Kuncalienkar said, “Currently the process to appoint the consultant for the project of the new building for Goa Board has started. Once the consultant is appointed, it will take at least 5 to 6 months to complete the procedures. So, we can say that after the monsoon, the foundation stone for the project shall be laid.”
The new building is set to be constructed in around 7,000 square meters at the existing facility at Porvorim. The total cost and facilities are yet to be disclosed.
New GBSHSE Chairman Ramkrishna Samant said, “One of my priorities is to boost the proposal for constructing a new building for the Board, in front of the existing office on a space of around 7,000 sq meters. The project is with GSIDC and it is in the pipeline. Once the necessary approvals are gained we can expect construction to start.”
