Goa Government Hikes Dearness Allowance to 60% for Employees and Aided Staff

The Government of Goa has approved an increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for government employees and staff of aided educational institutions from 58% to 60% of Basic Pay.

According to an Office Memorandum issued by the Finance Department, the revised DA will be implemented with retrospective effect from January 1, 2026.

Officials stated that the enhanced allowance will be paid from May 2026 onwards. Employees will also receive arrears for the period between January 2026 and April 2026.

The decision is expected to benefit a large number of state government employees as well as employees working in aided educational institutions across Goa.

The Finance Department memorandum outlines that the revised DA rates will apply in accordance with existing government rules and payment procedures.
